Quick Transmigration: short Chinese novel genre primer and rec list
Quick Transmigration is developed from the very popular Chinese web novel transmigration genre, where the main character is transferred to another world/time period/books/games.
In quick transmigration, characters may jump to different worlds they are vastly different in tones and setting. Usually the transmigrator travels alone, and have to fulfill missions in those worlds, such as fixing storylines, winning hearts, etc. It is different from the unlimited/infinite flow genre because the character is supposed to live another person's life and has to jump to another world after one another. Usually the characters have a system to brief them on the worlds and provide help.
It' usually contains self contained episodic arc, so it's convenient to readers who like picking and choosing whatever to their taste.
As I mostly read BL, they are all m/m. All of them are compmeted in original languages.

The main character is a BL writer who end almost every one with a bad ending. Then he is transmigrated into all his novels to give his protagonist a happy ending. Both the main character and his lover grows throughout the experience, and there is a coherent framework. An old favourite.

Status: The main novel and the epilogue are translated. The extra are being updated.
The main character is a hacker trapped inside a quick transmigration world that mentally tortures him through repeated obligatory failure and death, but he successfully hacked the system and subverted the original plotline for defeating the system. Then he met his love who seemed to follow him to other worlds afterwards.
It's a lighthearted fast paced read. The main character knows what he wants and takes initiative to win them.
Don’t Pick Up Boyfriends From the Trash Can
Status: 177 out of 270 chapters and 14 extras are translated. Last update: 16 Jan 2022
The title comes from a popular Chinese internet meme, that means not to settle with asshole or abusive lovers.
I save it at last because it's epic. the main character fell into a coma after an accident. Then he was told that he now had to go through missions to revenge scums with the help of the system 061. The main character found tie situation suspicious and used his own ways to avenge the original victims, while undercovering a conspiracy. There were ten worlds, including post-apocalyptic survival, a/b/o futuristic mecha fighting, infinite flow. Each arc can be a very solid story on their own, but they were connected by the grand conspiracy. The world building is impressive, and the romance is equally touching. The main character is smart, highly competent and always makes sure that the original victims have a better life after his departure. He was keen to return home because he needs to sweep the grave of the most important person in his life. His love interest is also competent and gentlemanly.
Note: Some of the scums are really nasty people so the arcs can get really dark. Almost all of the original victims die horribly in their original timeline.
