My Top Five Hosted Games
The Hosted Games label is for user submitted games, so the quality and the content varies more than the Choice of Games label.
My Top Five: Kiss from Death, Donor, Wayhaven Chronicles series, The Parenting Simulator, A Study in Steampunk: Choice by Gaslight (sorted by publishing date)
Kiss from Death: You play an immortal looking for eternal companionship in a world of epic fantasy! The love interest are very unique: lich, cursed princes, dragons, and more. You can spend your Immortality writing poetry, travelling around the world, seducing mortals, and unlocking powers while facing a dark prophecy. It's a very relationship focus game, and I find the characters very fascinating. The stories are often bittersweet and memorable. My character freely love and marry many mortals, who are like mayflies compared to her lifespan, but they are all distinctive and unforgettable characters
Donor: You play the newest captive kept in the modern vampires' lair. All other died. You hope you can be the exception. The blend of psychological horror and dark comedy work very well as you have to match your wit with dangerous and manipulative vampires (and their human servant who hate you). The game play is creative and the optional mini games added to the suspense.
Wayhaven Chronicles series: You play a police detective in small town recently hit by a serial killer, which forced you to enter a world of supernatural and develop romance with vampires of a special squad. It's planned to be a series of seven, and book three doesn't yet has a publishing date. While taste varies, I think it does a good job that allows characters with different strength and personalities to succeed in the game.
The Parenting Simulator: You plays a single parent doing the best they can to raise their child from infancy to adulthood, and your choice helps shape their personality and career. The pacing is good, and it's very satisfying to see how the child comes out.
A Study in Steampunk: Choice by Gaslight: Inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Jekyll & Hyde, and Jack the Ripper, you play a veteran doctor paired with the world's greatest detective (sounds familiar ;)) in a world of dueling empire, soul draining power and social conflicts. The story is very original, with well developed characters and wonderful world building.
