My challenge: Share one thing about your favourite media/fanworks/etc that you think it's neat.
Mine: Kaori Yuki's a manga artist whose works include Angel Sanctuary & Count Cain/Godchild. She once said that she did extensive research about Victorian era underwear & sleep wear, then threw that away because they weren't sexy enough to depict. She knows what she wants.

Star Trek: the Original Series: James T. Kirk/Spock
- AU that events in Star Trek Generations & Star Trek: AOS never happens. Kirk and Spock are happily married, retired from bridge duty but still active, builing an oddball community and go on exploring. I can't have enough of fics that features them as a happy couple in movie era.
-Alternately, fic set after the Search for Spock that explores the impact of Spock's death to him and everyone else. He's revived, but he's not the same person as before. Maybe he can remember most of his past, but the emotional association is gone. How does he navigate and rebuild his life? How do you mourn for someone alive but your shared past seems gone forever? Maks me cry by making the happy/bittersweet ending hard earned.

My challenge: Talk about the most self-indulgent, joy-sparking scenario for your OTP, favorite characters, favorite show/game/book/etc. Something that could've been canon if the writers so chose, something that would never be canon but is why AU fics exist. Silly, horny, angsty, fluffy, as long as it scratches that itch and makes YOU happy.

I'd love to see fic like this too! I'm sure it's been written, since there's so much Star Trek fic out there, but it certainly doesn't appear to be a common topic to explore. Spock does seem rather different after Search for Spock, which I appreciate (I'm glad they didn't just reset him back to exactly the way he was, as if nothing had happened), and yeah, I think the impact of that change, for both him and the other characters, would be worth delving into.
(And, hah, I usually ignore Generations and always absolutely ignore AOS. ;) Old Married K/S does seem to be a pretty common fic setup, at least! I agree it would be fun to see them still exploring together. I don't think I've read any fics quite like that yet.)

Kirk and Spock are such adventurers that I don't think they'll settle down in the conventional sense. While I love fics that they are Starfleet instructor, I would like to see them on a ship/new community together.

It is something that is canon, but it something that I would have wanted much, much earlier on, would have been for both Adora and Catra and Korra and Asami to have their confessions of feelings and their displays of affection. We know why it always seems to take so long, but they really could have done much better with kissing each other earlier!
