I really like Matt Farrell/John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard (2007). This gives me an excuse to get into the fics again.

Rec list:

Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round by Annie D.: An alternate Die Hard 4, fused with Jan de Bont's Speed

I love Speed, and I think this captures the fast paced action and risk in both movies.

Pre-Existing Condition by Helenish: John declares Matt as his domestic partner so that Matt can share his insurance coverage. Fake relationship, shared secrets, forced intimacy and everything left unsaid, with a happy ending

Five Easy Steps to Falling in Love by Severina: The road to true love may be paced with bad guys and clearing junk. a First time fic with great romantic development, humour and misadventures

Getting to Know You by miss_pryss: Post-movie, John and Matt decide to have shared fun days together. Very funny to read. (I like when Matt put on disguise for buying a taco ). I really loves the pining

I'm always surprised when I come across an LFoDH fic I haven't read, but omg, that first one sounds fantastic! I'm going to have double-check that I've read all of them, though. *bg*
