Snowflake Challenge Challenge #7
Make a list of fannish and/or creative resources. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have posted links to resources about website building, world building and
writing interactive fiction before. This time I would like to discuss solo roleplaying because tabletop roleplaying is totally a fandom.;) The tools and generators links are useful for writing too.
Solo Roleplaying is a fun way to explore a story or a game on your own.
Some people use oracles: tools that answer questions, create story elements, and provide content for improvisation. Journal RPG are popular, as they gives you prompts for you to write a story.
Currently, there's a charity bundle for 125 solo rpg games for $10 (Available to 9th March). I have written a post about it with selected recommendation.
My favourite games (All free because I love free things):
Ironsworn: a low fantasy rpg that you play as wanderers sworn to carry out dangerous quests. The setting is outlined for you to fill in the details. It can be played solo or in a group.
Iron Valley: a cozy slice of life game with Harvet Moon/Animal Forest/Stardew Valley vibe
Urban Legend Club: a game on solving the urban mysteries in the world around you. What I like is the procedure about creating and solving a mystery.
Alone Among the Stars: a minimalistic game about exploring space and experiencing wondrous sights
You can play it in browser: Alone Among the Stars: Twine Edition
The City Stretches Out In All Directions Without Limits is a solo RPG about infinite and fantastic cities from the perspective of whatever that city's equivalent of a subway train driver is.
Exclusion Zone Botanist: "an ENNIE-nominated solo drawing hex crawl game inspired by The Colour Out of Space by H.P. Lovecraft and Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer"
