Fandom Snowflake Challenge #12
Challenge #12
Tell Us about a Personal Win.
Share whatever wins you’re comfortable with telling us all about. Found a new fandom that makes you light up? One of your creations has earned more kudos than you dreamed of? Wins from life, new job, new school, new adventure? You have a couple of wins you want to celebrate, we want to hear about them. Share a win or two so we can cheer for you.
Last year, I tried to build a personal website to backup my fanwork. I learnt HTML in 2000s, so I had to catch up with development in web design. For example, I had to learn DIV+CSS instead of HTML table for website layout. The frame tag was also no longer supported in the current HTML standard.
By looking up HTML5 & CSS web tutorials, I learnt how to build a simple website that aimed to be accessible & mobile responsive. I now knew how to use CSS to add a navigation bar and foot bar for the whole web site.
Now the only thing missing is for me to upload everything upthere. But it's still a personal achievement.

I follow the online CSS and HTML tutorial on this website and find them helpful:

It's not hard to write a simple web page with text and image. If you're interested in tutorials, I use the html and CSS resources on this website:

I have a lot of fun tinkering with the site. It's great to change things just because I can.

Coding is a lot harder than people think it is, so kudos to you for brushing up on that again!

I learnt to code because of Neopets and Geocities too. Nowadays It's easier to find coding resources. There are also more checker tools too. It's better than before.

I first made my personal GeoCities website with frame too. It was a surprise to me that it was considered outdated, bad for mobile and screen readers. Things really changed a lot.

I totally get how hard it's to back up all the writing. I hope you will have time for it in the future!
Yay!
