Challenge #12
Tell Us about a Personal Win.
Share whatever wins youโre comfortable with telling us all about. Found a new fandom that makes you light up? One of your creations has earned more kudos than you dreamed of? Wins from life, new job, new school, new adventure? You have a couple of wins you want to celebrate, we want to hear about them. Share a win or two so we can cheer for you.
Last year, I tried to build a personal website to backup my fanwork. I learnt HTML in 2000s, so I had to catch up with development in web design. For example, I had to learn DIV+CSS instead of HTML table for website layout. The frame tag was also no longer supported in the current HTML standard.
By looking up HTML5 & CSS web tutorials, I learnt how to build a simple website that aimed to be accessible & mobile responsive. I now knew how to use CSS to add a navigation bar and foot bar for the whole web site.
Now the only thing missing is for me to upload everything upthere. But it's still a personal achievement.

Date: 2024-01-24 10:28 am (UTC)I learnt to code because of Neopets and Geocities too. Nowadays It's easier to find coding resources. There are also more checker tools too. It's better than before.

Date: 2024-01-24 10:10 am (UTC)I first made my personal GeoCities website with frame too. It was a surprise to me that it was considered outdated, bad for mobile and screen readers. Things really changed a lot.
