割肉纹身，爱也不必疼痛来修饰
不必飘逸，不必出尘
不必种在镜中，不必泪水灌溉
不必隐喻
倒向淤泥的身段不必扶风，生宣的泼墨不必修改
如开花，生香，或凋落，不必看客
如结果，友烈酒，伴冷茶，不必长相守
但若不开花不结果又如何
且把我当做枯山水中可有可无的
一抹枯墨，并略去飞白中
我未曾吐露的
得失、毁誉、悲喜、折磨与放弃……
不是诗酒主，不做人间客，无非草木，无关离合

The plum tree gets used to any changes in temperature, with a blooming posture,
Not to pander to freezing snow or spring wind. The story of a new sweetheart
Popping out of olden dreams results simply from your undue elaborations.
I shall do with no need for you
To embroider blossom patterns on your front garment or long sleeves. Do not mention
To add details on your bosom and carve to the bone. No need
To cut into your flesh with tattooing since love does not agree with inflicted pains.
No necessity to be graceful. No demand to be an immortal life.
No requirement to grow in the mirror. Do not pour sad tears about.
And do not need any metaphors.
Do not depend on the wind while sinking in mud. Do not alter any on the drawing paper.
Do not need any spectators during its blooming, aroma floating, or withering.
Do not have to grow old together while bearing fruits, sipping wine or cool tea.
But what of it if it is not blossoming or bearing fruits?
Just look upon me as dispensable
Dried-up brushes in Chinese painting, And omit in hollow strokes
What I have not revealed under:
Loss and gain, blame and praise, misery and happiness, sufferings and renunciation...
No lover of poetry or wine, no guest in the earthly world. Nothing but a tree. Nothing
to do with life and death.
