Dear writer,
Thank you so much for attempting to write a fic for me! I'm sure I will love it anyways, but here are some details about what I like/dislike, in case you like to do your research.
First off, I would rather receive a fic that the author was enthusiastic about than one that fulfilled every detail of my request. These are guidelines meant to help you, not to cage you.
I like stories with: amnesia, action/adventure, alternative universes, banter, capture and rescue, competence, crossover, dominance and submission, the edge between civilization and the unknown, formation of friendship, history affecting the present, humour, hurt/comfort, longing, matchmaker, love or friendship expressed in atypical ways, moral ambiguity, opposite attraction, outsider POV, people telling stories, people who have each other 's backs, people who flat out like each other's company, people suffering stoically, power exchange, resolve, secret identity (or lack of it), strong and competent characters, sense memory, time travel, traveling.
In a rare case you have not yet given up on my rambling and want to research me more, I told more about what I like here.
Seriously, If you go the AU route-- or just in general-- please don't worry too much about making everything fit exactly into canon. I am *not* going to be super-picky about what happened when, or which characters were doing what during whatever event.
I don't particularly like: mpreg, soul-bonding or "destiny" in terms of romance, excessive possessiveness and/or jealousy portrayed as healthy or romantic, "we're not gay we just love each other," first person narration, graphic violence, torture, deadfic, heavy illness (e.g. cancer or AIDS), rape/noncon, unrelenting angst, hardcore kink, self-harm, incest or faux-incest, religion bashing, major public embarrassment, and/or female-character-bashing-- including dialogues like "Don't be such a girl," and so on.
Fandom1: Ou Dorobou Jing | King of Bandits Jing
Request Character: Any
The canon: King of Bandits Jing is a series of short, usually disconnected stories starring the exploit of a young boy who calls himself Jing, the Bandit King. Each arc includes a new treasure or object that Jing is seeking, and the upset of some restrictive societal norm thanks to Jing's intervention; rulers are dethroned, prison riots are caused, an entire corrupt religion is reduced to shambles. It is a seven-volume series and adapted into a 13 episode anime. The manga and anime have been translated into English.
Why I love this series
Much of the appeal of the series comes from the fantastic and often surreal world that Jing lives in, bordering on the Expressionist style. I love how Jing disturbed the established social order and the cast of interesting female characters. Jing also is a character of mystery and I would like him to be explored more. :

Fandom 3: Harukanaru Toki no Naka de Hachiyou Shou
Request Character: Motomiya Akane
The canon: Harukanaru Toki no Naka de Hachiyou Shou is a manga/anime adapted from a dating game, in which the main character Akane is summoned to a distant realm to help save the country. The anime has been translated into English.
Why I love this series:
I love Akane because she 's kind, gentle and determined to help a distant world. She may not be powerful, but she tries her best and grow a lot during the later arcs, showing her independence and hiddden toughness. I also love other character: the serious and disciplined Yorihisa, the analytical Abe no Yasuaki and the friendship between Takamichi and Tomomasa. If there's romance, I prefer Akane/Yorihisa or Akane/Yasuaki, but gen is fine to me.

Fandom 4: Yakushiji Ryōko no Kaiki Jikenbo
Request Character: Any
The canon: Yakushiji Ryōko no Kaiki Jikenbo is a manga/anime series adapted from light novels, featuring the main protagonist Yakushiji Ryōko solving mystery with supernatural elements with style. The anime has been translated into English.
Why I love this series:
I love Yakushiji Ryoko no Kaiki Jikenbo because it is great fun. It is a mix of supernatural mystery action comedy and scathing social commentary on Japan nowadays. Yakushiji Ryoko is a gender-flipped Sherlock Holmes and magnificant bastard, while Izumida Junichirou is her long suffering stoic subordinate with a dry humour. I like the quiet d/s vibe in their relationship too. I love humourous action comedy, but if you want to explore the darker and more serious aspect of the canon, be my guest. (Though please not too dark, because I am a wimp.) I don't care about the conspiracy plot arc in the anime, though, so I would prefer the story not focusing on it. If you want more plot idea, what about a story that explores the early days they met? Or a case that they need to cooperate with Yukiko Muromachi to solve is good too. A story that plays with the tropes in detective novels or supernatural stories is great too. I have access to the books, manga and anime so whatever verion you base on is good to me. In term of romance, please don't pair them off with other characters. I wrote a brief (non dial-up friendly) overview about it. Link)
