I watched very few Marvel movies: the first Captain America movie, Deadpool 2 and Shang-chi, and only follow Marvel cinematic universe from osmosis, but the movie was largely self-contained. I find the main cast very enjoyable charcters, and the sequence of multiverse travel visually cool. There was also authentic Cantonese dialogue and cameo of America's two mothers, which was real cool. The movie was fast paced and entertaining, but the villain plot was really overdone.
Top Gun: Maverick
I didn't watch the original Top Gun movie, so I was sure I missed some of the nuances, but the flashback and dialogues were good enough for context. I can really see strong Maverick/Iceman and Maverick/Rooster potential. The air dogfight and training scenes were really intense and exciting, and there were some good comedy moments. The plot was really good too with both Maverick and Rooster growing as characters.
