I wish the pandemic would be gone. Nearly all my colleagues and my family have caught covid. The government is going to lift all measures against covid, so more people will catch it, especially when people no long take the covid seriously. I wish I could return to a world free from covid, but it seemed more and more unlikely.

I don’t think it will ever be gone. I’m sorry you are feeling bad about it. My son works from home and has become quite the hermit. It affects everyone differently.

Sorry to hear about your son. The covid hits a lot of people's opportunities/abilities of socializing.

I am with you. I know most people seem to be going about like it's over, when it isn't, and I wish it would be. At some point in the near future, I hope we can get there where it really is.

In my city, nearly 20,000 people catches covid everyday. Almost 70 people died yesterday. The government is still dropping all measures because "everyone already gets covid". At this rate I am very pessimistic about the future.

It's just very sad.

Yeah. I don't think we'll ever be rid of C-19 because it'll most likely mutate into something like the various flu viruses.

But I'd really really really love the chance to work without a mask. Facial expressions are a vital part of working with patients and so much communication is lost when all they can see are the eyes.

I agree. Facial Expression is so important in communication that a lot will be lost without seeing them, no to mention the additional difficulties to people with hearing difficulties/deafness

oh man, i am right there with you. i want people to take it seriously and stop giving it to each other so we can get to a place where it isn't a big deal (or, ideally, isn't anything at all).

I wince when my colleagues joke about wanting to get infected. It's really not funny. I also hear rumours that some people deliberately approach patients with milder symptoms in hope of catching the disease. Vaccination is free. Why do you do that?

that's like holding chicken pox parties, which i know used to be a thing - a friend of mine sent her kid to one when the kid was i think still in single digits, and i didn't know how to tell her that was the stupidest thing i'd ever heard - i guess you'd send your preteen kids to get them infected when they were of an age to fully recover. but why anyone would want to deliverately infect themselves with covid is beyond me. i mean, getting it once doesn't mean you won't ever catch it again. i really hope those are rumors and not something people are actually doing.

People seem to think covid is just like cold when people are dying of it every day. The cognitive dissonance is huge.

I've lost so much faith in governments (for years and years now, but it took an especially hard hit over COVID). Just, so much greed and lack of empathy and cruelty and misinformation, I am done.

Agreed. People I know who were healthy and active still suffer from the side effects of covid after recovery. It's really sad and scary.
