Hmm -- first line of the book I'm reading now is:

Intriguing! What's your opinion about the book?

I'm only a couple chapters in, but so far it's looking a little more central-character-focused than the previous books, which were more ensemble. The central (and title) character isn't one I most care about, but of those on stage she has, um, the most potential for growth -- of the sort that's the bread-and-butter of more standard boarding school stories.

I hope you'll find the book more enjoyable, while the character has chance to grow.

It was indeed enjoyable, and the way the author handles concerns slightly sideways of typical boarding school stories (there's a more adult perspective, with time spent on the head and other teachers, not to mention a concern for politics that will probably give upcoming mid-century events an interesting effect) makes this a far from predictable series.
