Dear Yuletide Writer letter

Dear Yuletide writer,

Thank you so much for attempting to write a fic for me! I'm sure I will love it anyways, but here are some details about what I like/dislike, in case you like to do your research.

First off, I would rather receive a fic that the author was enthusiastic about than one that fulfilled every detail of my request. These are guidelines meant to help you, not to cage you.

I am open to both plot-driven stories and character pieces. Plot with porn is fine and fun, but I am OK with stories without sex! I generally prefer lighthearted stories, That said, I love good angst - as long as it ends happily. No 'hurt' without 'comfort'. So no pain-filled death stories, pretty please. I love romantic story, but I need realism even in my mush.

I like stories with: amnesia, action/adventure, alternative universes, banter, capture and rescue, competence, crossover, dominance and submission, the edge between civilization and the unknown, formation of friendship, history affecting the present, humour, hurt/comfort, longing, matchmaker, love or friendship expressed in atypical ways, moral ambiguity, opposite attraction, outsider POV, people telling stories, people who have each other 's backs, people who flat out like each other's company, people suffering stoically, power exchange, resolve, secret identity (or lack of it), strong and competent characters, sense memory, time travel, traveling.

In a rare case you have not yet given up on my rambling and want to research me more, I told more about what I like here.

Seriously, If you go the AU route-- or just in general-- please don't worry too much about making everything fit exactly into canon. I am *not* going to be super-picky about what happened when, or which characters were doing what during whatever event.

I don't particularly like: mpreg, soul-bonding or "destiny" in terms of romance, excessive possessiveness and/or jealousy portrayed as healthy or romantic, "we're not gay we just love each other," first person narration, graphic violence, torture, deadfic, heavy illness (e.g. cancer or AIDS), rape/noncon, unrelenting angst, hardcore kink, self-harm, incest or faux-incest, religion bashing, major public embarrassment, and/or female-character-bashing-- including dialogues like "Don't be such a girl," and so on.

And here are the four fandoms I requested, with the characters that I requested, and an Extended Edition of each of my requests! But again, these are just notes-- just, if you're the kind of person who wants to know *more* information about what I might possibly like, here it is-- and I will be thrilled with whatever you choose.

RequestDetail1: Anything would be great! I'm totally okay with gen, slash, het or femslash, and I don't mind death stories in this fandom. If you want a prompt though, what about a pursue between the assassin in Gears and Blood and the Imperial sheriff? Or what about the time when Imperial Inventor's invention saves the day? Or what about a story detailing Imperial Empress's road to power? These are just some suggestions, though; if none of those appeal to you, then just write anything in the universe and I'll be thrilled. Just please don't whitewash the universe.

Extended Request: Imperial Steamworks Series (paintings) is a series which combines Imperial China history and details with western steamworks. They are brilliant and spell out a lot fic writing possibilities to me. I want to see more of this world. I want to know how the empire and the characters are affected by the technology, how they live with it and how they in turn shape their lives. I want to know the origin stories of the characters. What have they encountered in their lives? How do their lives intersect? On the other hand, a pulpy adventure is just as awesome.  I am fascinated by the way the Empress is dwarfed by and yet utterly in control of this machine. I would love to know more about her, or about whoever who built it. Was she an Empress before she became joined with the machine? Can she leave? Did she have any choice? Monarchies depend on line of succession - what does an Immortal ruler do to an Empire? And what kind of Empire? I'm also interested in the Imperial Inventor. How does the accident changes him? Does he recover? What kinds of work does he do for the Imperial family?

If you would like a prompt, what about a story that explores the mystery behind Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master? Or a story detailing Kuroi Mato and Takanashi Yomi's relationship with a lot of angst, pining and a hopeful ending? Or a story that explores the double identity?

Extended Request:
Black Rock Shooter is a 50 minute anime that details the school drama that two girls making friends and drifting apart, interceded with the fight between Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master in an alternative dimension. I like the real life part of the anime for the light angst, the believable characters and dialogue while I'm intrigued by the fight between Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master. I want to know more about the mythology of them. Who are they? Why do they need to fight? What are their relation to the real life story line? Do they fight by choice or forced by some outside force? There are so much mystery and I would like more exploration. It's also fine if you want only to explore either of the story line. An emotional reconciliation between Mato and Yomi is as welcome as Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master's fight.

I enjoyed this novel as much for it's gothic London setting as for the gay romance. I would love a story that explores what Belimai and Harper do next (life in the country? revolution?) or the mythical figures of the past (Sariel maybe?). 

Extended edition of request: 
Ginn Hale has created a world so tangible, so complete, that I felt as if I could smell, see, taste and feel everything right along with her characters. But for me the most enjoyable aspects of the story were the two amazingly complex, yet subtly drawn, protagonists and the tender love story that develops between them. My only complaint is the book is too short. So tell me about Belimai's past (perhaps with Sariel). What kind of cases did he receive? What's his perspective of the world around him? What kind of future life does he have with Harper? Basically, I just want more Belimai. I like stories with or without porn. I 'm cool with whatever style you adopt in your fic.

If you want more prompts, what about a story that Storm shows off her competence and leadership and saves the day? Or a story focusing on her relationship with other female characters (saving the world as ladies' night out, banter, just more women being cool). A story that shows how Storm joins the Avengers team is good too.

Extended version of request:
I love that Marvel Adventures: Avengers is easily accessible to new readers, and gently guide them to bigger continuality. (The guest appearance of the Golden age superheroes still cheers me up when I see it) I it is supposed to be the kid line to Marvel's superheroes title, but it has light-heated humour, wacky adventures, and competent characters who care about each other. Among the characters Storm is my favourite because she's a  competent leader and always stays her cool. That's why I want more stories about her. Why does she join the Avengers? What does she think about the team? What happens the time when she goes on the trip with Jan and Tigra? I just want to see her being awesome.  If the story is going to include romance, , I like Thor/Storm, Black Panther/Storm, Jan/Storm, Tigra/Storm and Jan/Tigra/Storm.

 Feel free to go through the mods anytime if you have some kind of question about any of this--but really, I will love whatever you write me. If your choice is between writing a story that is truly awesome and you're really excited about, as opposed to something that's exactly what I want, go with one that you're really excited about-- I will love it regardless, because it's awesome!
